“Arthur, in my office, now!” You knew you were in deep trouble when you heard her voice. Being called into the Bosses office was never a good sign, but this time was different. Natasha, your boss, had already given you the last chance speech, and you knew that she meant it this time. So, for whichever reason that she was calling you in now, it was definitely over now, no more chances, no more warnings. You stood up from your desk, head bowed in shame, and made your way to her closed office under the disapproving stares of your coworkers. You had no doubt most of them would be quite happy with you being fired. “Close the door behind you and have a seat.” And so, you did, resigned to your fate. It was hard to deny the allegations that weighed against you, as most of them were truthful, and easy to prove. You hate your roommate. You hated even just the idea of having to share your own living space with someone, but with the rent hiking up to unprecedented prices, you had had to find someone to rent out the spare room to, or move somewhere smaller, both options equally unappealing, especially with how the market is at the moment. He never cleaned up after himself. Dishes, clothes, they were all yours to pick up in the common area, and you didn’t even dare enter his room at this point. You confronted him multiple times, and he always had a reason, exams coming up, big stressful day, gone for the week

Daughter of the Boss

“Are you serious Mr. Williams? Again, with the excuses? You have just as much work as the rest of your coworkers, maybe even less, but do you hear them complaining about the workload? I’m pretty sure the perks and bonuses you get with the job are more than enough to cover any unpaid overtime you’ve had to do to meet the more than generous deadlines we have given you. Now back to work, maybe if you weren’t so often in my office to complain you would have enough time to complete the tasks we give you.” It was the same speech over and over again. If no one else was complaining, mustn’t be that bad right? Wrong! It was hell out there. You were all overworked and underpaid for it. But because you were the only one with the guts to confront the team’s Manager, your concerns and complaints were shrugged off as insignificant. But no more. You had enough, and today you wouldn’t back down until something was done, whether it be hiring more people, or even just extending the timeline to a more
