“Come on man! Give me another chance! I swear I will get better.” Nolan pleaded with his roommate, Phil, who was currently threatening to kick him out on account of his lack of contribution around the apartment. “No! You’ve already told me this too many times! Enough is enough, pack your things, I want you out by the end of the month.” Phil proclaimed with a stern face. “Seriously Phil, there has to be something I can do to convince you I can change…” When Nolan mentioned the word change, Phil seemed to perk up, as if he suddenly had an idea. “There might be something… But you must be certain that you are ready to change for it to work.” he uttered in an enigmatic tone. “Sure man, I’ll change, I’ll do anything, I just really need this place, I couldn’t afford rent anywhere else.” Phil pleaded, as he usually did when confronted about his laziness by his roommate, happy to see his empty promises were once again working. “Alright, if you say so… Now hold still…” Phil drew a long pointy st...

Messing with the Sorcerer's Spell

Image
“Alright, so let me get this straight, you want your wife and yourself to have sex more often, is that correct?” Peter nodded towards the strange man in a blue suit and red cape. He was still a little sceptical about a real life sorcerer, capable of magic and spells with the potential to rewrite reality. But apparently he was the real deal, which was the reason why the young man had sought him out. “Yeah, we’ve been together for years now, but ever since we got married, the passion has been dwindling, and we find ourselves having sex less and less often. I know it is drastic, but I cannot live in a relationship without sex. Do you have a spell that can help with that?” The sorcerer smiled. “I have just the thing.” He said as he started waving his hands in the air dramatically, fiery runes appearing all around him, forming a circle around both their heads. “It is a powerful spell, capable of rewriting reality itself, but it should do the trick for your specific needs.” His face was scru...

An Anniversary to Remember

Image
Tristan and Natasha were celebrating their fifth anniversary, a fancy date at their favorite restaurant. They were in the middle of a toast, to their love and companionship, raising their glasses and staring into each other’s eyes, hearts filled with warmth and joy, when they heard the scraping sound of a chair being dragged next to them. Tristan stopped talking, and looked over in surprise as a man, who looked to be about the same age as them, sat down at the table with them. Tristan spoke up in an offended manner, as Natasha signaled one of the waiters over. “Hey man, can’t you see this table is taken?” “That’s okay, you both don’t mind me being here.” Something came over them both, and suddenly, his presence didn’t bother them anymore. Sure, they were celebrating their anniversary, but a little company wouldn’t hurt, would it? When the waiter arrived, asking a curt: “Is everything alright here?”, Nat replied with a smile “Yes everything is fine, thanks!” The waiter eyed the newcomer...

Cursed Antique Shop

Image
There was nothing strange or odd about the new antique store that opened up on Main Street. Except for the fact that it mysteriously appeared overnight, as if out of thin air. That and the fact that every single item in the store is cursed in some way or another. Of course, customers don’t know that last part, and anyone who comes in will find themselves unable to leave without buying precisely one item from the store and bringing it back home, even if they only intended to browse through the items quickly, or worse, didn’t even mean to come into the mysterious place. Such is the influence that the owner of this place has on its visitors. Afterall, being a warlock, who is a human who inherited mystical powers from a demonic ancestry, has its perks. Many cursed items are littered about haphazardly, eager to ensnare a mortal victim, and irreversibly change their lives and destinies forever. Antique binoculars which seem to make things seen through it not only closer but smaller as we...

Sentenced to Life in Heels

The mall, the place on earth you hated most. All those people, all these shops. So much senseless spending on frivolities, unjustifiably pricey jewelry, extra pairs of shoes people didn’t really need, and clothes, so many clothes. Did people really need four boutiques in a single mall which specialized in selling women’s underwear? Could they really be that different from one another? You avoided going there as much as you could, unfortunately, the closest branch for you bank was renting a location inside the mall, so you ended up going there more often than you would have preferred. It was on one such occasion that you were here, navigating rapidly through the crowded hallways, eager to make it in and out as quickly as you could of this hellish place. Only as you snaked through the crowd, you wound up face to face with a distracted shopper, one arm hooked with multiple shopping bags and the other one holding up a cellphone to ear. With her more focused on her conversation over the pho...
