They say college is a melting pot. Different cultures, ideologies, interests created a very particular social structure, that often resulted in cliques forming. There were the geeks and nerds, hipsters and potheads, punks and goths, artists and thespians, and of course the jocks and cheerleaders. But you didn’t fit with any of them, in fact you practically hated them all. Because they all had one thing in common. They conformed. Yes, even the punks, who labeled themselves as disruptors of societal norms, as they still conformed to the social structuring that college imposed. They remained within bounds and did not overstep. And you despised them for it. This was all bullshit and you couldn’t wait to be done with school, and move on to real life, outside in the real world. But for now, you endured, begrudgingly.
